In addition to the musical ones, the Old Port will also give away the ice skating rink and the majestic Ferris wheel, nominating itself as a favorite place for children and families.

De Ferrari Square, the beating heart of Genoa, will provide a splendid setting for the New Year’s Eve concert. Hosted by Federica Panicucci and broadcast live nationally on Mediaset networks, it will feature a mix of young singers and Italian music icons as guests, including Al Bano, Orietta Berti, Articolo 31, Rocco Hunt, Iva Zanicchi, Fausto Leali, Michele Bravi, Mietta, Luigi Strangis, Matteo Romano, Gemelli Diversi, Ivana Spagna, Gaia, Sophie and The Giants, Enrico Nigiotti, Big Boy, Paolo Meneguzzi, Leo Gassman, Berna, Federica, Wax and with the special participation of the entire school of “Amici.”

New Year’s Eve 2024 in music

Those who would prefer to spend New Year’s Eve away from the deafening noise of a rock concert can opt for the New Year’s Concert at the Carlo Felice Theater, with Maestro Hartmut Haenchen conducting the Opera Orchestra, which on this special occasion features two pieces by Johannes Brahms and a piece by Franz Joseph Haydn. The show starts at 5 p.m. Dec. 31.

“At home for the holidays” is instead the proposal of the Politeama Genovese to spend a New Year’s Eve with the overwhelming comedy of Maurizio Lastrico. Two shows, one at 8 p.m. and one at 10:30 p.m., with the Genoese cabaret artist, who, after another year on TV and film sets, returns to his habitat, the theater, offering the tried-and-true sketches created for Zelig, but also some new pieces for this magical evening.

Two are our proposals for a New Year’s Eve under the banner of art and culture.

The Ducal Palace, where Steve McCurry’s two exhibitions, “Children” and Artemisia Gentileschi, will be open to visitors as early as the afternoon of Dec. 31 from 2 p.m. (by showing up with online purchase order confirmation directly at the exhibition ticket counters at the Doge’s Palace) until 1 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2024 (last entry at midnight).

The second proposal (daily, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) is the exhibit “Bansky’s World – The Immersive Experience” at Genoa Piazza Principe Station. We would discover a treasure trove of more than 100 works of art, including 30 life-size murals by the world’s largest and best-known street artist.

New Year’s Eve 2024 at the Aquarium

To celebrate the arrival of the new year amidst the magic of the sea, theAquarium of Genoa offers an evening that begins at 8 p.m. with a free tour of the exhibit trail to discover the nightlife of the tank dwellers, and continues with Dinner at the Cetacean Pavilion and the Shark and Dolphin Halls before concluding with a midnight toast.
